Mars Retrograde Interpretation Part II: How to interpret this symbolism FOR YOU uniquely (step by step text + video)

Intro

We are in the middle of our Mars retrograde now. It's been about a month, he started going retrograde through Leo December 6th [2024], now he's going to go retrograding into Caner again on January 6th [2025] so it is time to look back, see what's happening,  We've got some new information, new experiences we can integrate, re evaluate, see how this is working out. I have a new idea that I would love to check in with you guys about. Let me know if this new interpretation that is definitely playing out for me is also happening for you.

Why this is Significant 

So this is the biggest transit of the moment right now. This is basically what's going to characterize from December to maybe like February/March. This is going to be the biggest thing going on until March, the biggest astrological moment. These Mars retrogrades only happen about once every two years, and this particular one going through Cancer and Leo hasn't happened since 2009-2010,

so like I mentioned [in my last video] we can look back to that period to see if this might be an echo of that time in some way. The reason this is so notable and the biggest sort of exclamation point in terms of everything we have going on in the sky right now is because Mars is a personal planet, he is close to home and normally Mars moves pretty fast- it takes him about six weeks to go through a sign. However, during a Mars retrograde, it's going to take Mars seven months to get through these 23 degrees. So normally six weeks to get through a full 30, now he is going forwards and then backwards and then forwards over these 23 degrees, and that's going to take seven months.

Who is Mars? What does Mars retrograde Feel Like?

Mars is our planet of action, getting things done, aggression, violence, a very masculine type of energetic & sometimes sexual energy. So he is zooming around normally. He’s the energy that's really the fire under you to get things done, initiate things, bold, forward moving action. So it's pretty counterintuitive to Mars's nature to be moving so slow like this, and that is going to be pretty frustrating in the area of life that this is going to be affecting for you. 

Last time I talked about how you can interpret that for you personally with regard to the transit, so where is Mars right now in your chart? What house is he in? Is he touching any planets? But I realized that for me in this point in our reflection about what's going on so far, I don't have any personal planets between 17 Cancer and 6 Leo. I don't have any planets over these degrees that Mars is going over three times, so I noticed for me that this is actually affecting more of the house that Mars rules in my chart, so I wanted to check in and see if that might be happening for other people. Are you noticing more of this Mars retrograde energy with regard to the place that he is in in your chart right now [where he’s transiting], or the house that he rules?

How to Interpret this Mars Retrograde For You

So I made these little charts that you can look at and check out to see which area you’re feeling this Mars retrograde in more. You're going to look for feelings with regard to this area of life that are sort of slowing down action that you need to take in this area of life, frustration, anger, challenges in this area of life. Maybe this is a part of life that you are revisiting going over, reevaluating the way that you're getting things done. Sometimes the retrograde is going back, looking over things reevaluating, but because it's Mars, it'll be that with regard to the way that you're getting things done. How effective are you in the action you're taking in this area of life? It also sometimes brings men back from the past and also can sometimes give you the impulse and energy to split or sever or just let go of something in this area of life. So those are the feelings we're going to be looking for.

Then I broke it down here by rising sign, so you're going to identify in this left column here, what is your rising sign? And then in the second column we're looking at the house that Mars is transiting through. So Mars right now as of January 1st is going through Leo, so I put down in this column what house number is Leo for you depending on your rising sign. For instance if you have Aries rising, then Mars is transiting through your 5th house, and you're going to look for this Mars retrograde symbolism with regard to significations in the 5th house. So if your Aries rising then maybe you're feeling this retrograde energy with respect to your children, your creativity your sex maybe you are feeling frustration, or blockages here, or just revisiting what these things mean to you at this time. 

So that's sort of what I talked about in my last video, but I'm comparing that in this video now to the place that Mars rules. Mars rules Aries sand Scorpio, so if your Aries rising, so you might be feeling this transit in the Aries and Scorpio part of your chart. So on the right half of my little table here, I'm comparing the house that Mars rules versus the house that he's transiting, and my hypothesis is that if you have planets or something personal like that within the degrees that Mars is transiting, going over in the sky, I'm guessing you're probably going to be feeling this more with regard to that transit. You’re probably going to be feeling this more with regard to the archetypal energies that that planet represents. So you can check out my last video if you want to look into that. So again, If you know that you have planets between 17 and 30 degrees of cancer or 0 to six Leo, then I'm guessing that you're going to feel that planetary energy activated and you're going to be feeling frustration with regard to topics or feelings or that part of your personality and maybe that area of life of the house that Mars is moving through. 

However, if you're someone like me who doesn't have any personal planets there, then that section of the chart is empty, so I'm guessing then that you might feel more activated with regard to the house that Mars rules. So for instance if you're Taurus rising, then Aries is going to be your 12th house and Scorpio is going to be your 7th house, so maybe you're feeling this Mars retrograde energy more with regards to those topics.

I also put in bold the Aries house because for me personally, I'm noticing a lot more coming up in the Aries part of my chart, and of course in traditional astrology, the ancient astrologers who gave us this whole system didn't know about Pluto. They could only see as far as Saturn in the sky. It wasn't until we had telescopes and such that we discovered these outer planets. So in ancient times, they had assigned Mars to rule Scorpio and Aries, but in modern times, since we discovered Pluto, some modern astrologers have reassigned the rulership of Scorpio to be Pluto. So some astrologers you talk to will not say that Scorpio was ruled by Mars, they'll say that Scorpio was ruled by Pluto,

and I can see how that symbolism might work out,  and for me personally, the rulership of Aries being Mars feels a lot stronger.
